O. Reeves dies Wednesday James Owen Reeves 87, father of Mrs. Henry J. Smith of Green River passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, at 3:30 p.m. at Sweetwater Memorial hospital, where he had been a patient for a short time. Mr. Reeves had previously lived in Stanfield, Ore., and had made his home with his daughter in Green River since May of this year. James Reeves was born in Millford, Ill., Feb. 20, 1881, the son of Catherine L. Cook and William Reeves. In 1911 he was married to Carrie Newman. She died Nov. 19, 1966. He was a member of the Episcopal church, Umatilla Masonic Lodge No. 40, and was a retired civil engineer for the US Bureau of Reclamation. Survivers include one son, James O. Reeves, Jr., of Redwood City, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Kathryn) Shutes, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Smith of Green River: six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Francom and Smith Mortuary today, Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Episcopal church, the Rev. Dennis Serdahl officiating. Gravside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hermiston, Ore. | |||||||||||||||
