George Walker Frost, 89, of Applewood at Amherst died May 30 at the Center for Extended Care at Amherst. He was born in Pittman, New Jersey January 25, 1913, the son of the late George and Kathryn (Walker) Frost. He began school in Haddonfield, New Jersey, graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institiute in 1935. Mr. Frost was employed by Turner Construction Company for more than 40 years during which he led numerous projects including the Helen Hills Chapel at Smith College, offices for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Worcester and Boston, the New England Geological Society and the Deaconess Hospital. His wife is the former Olga Westbye Cutting born in Peterborough Canada and a long-time Amherst resident. He leaves a son, Alan of Edgewater, Maryland and six stepsons, Westbye Cutting of Newfane Vermont, Eric Cutting of Merrimac Massachusetts, Arthur Cutting of Fayetteville, Georgia, Peter Cutting of San Diego, California and Stephen and Robert Cutting who both reisde in Amherst. He leaves 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. A memorial service will be held at the Amherst Congregational Church at 1:30 PM. The Frost-Cuttings prefer memorial gifts made to First Congregational Church of Amherst, 165 Main Streeet 01002 in lieu of flowers.
