Goerge Pancake Died Saturday
Born in Mildford Township in 1841. Funeral held last Monday.
At his residence near Woodland on Saturday Feb. 6, occurred the death of George Pancake, one of the well known residents of that locality. The deceased was a native of Iroquois county, born in Milford township Feb. 12, 1841. During his lifetime he was continuously a resident of this county save for four years spent in Nebraska. He was wedded Oct. 15, 1869 to Phoebe Reeves. To this union one son was born, who with the widow, a brother Milton, residing in Arkansas, and a sister, Maggie living in Milford, survive his passing away. The funeral took place at the Methodist Church at Milford on Monday, Feb. 8, at one o'clock, and was conducted by Rev. S.P. Archer, who preached from the text, Job 6:7. Interment was had at Maple Grove Cemetery.
